With the cost of living crisis and money feeling tighter than ever before, these kids eat free offers can be a life-saver for those on a budget so you’re not spending a fortune on meals.

In this article, I’ve listed all of the kids eat free and kids eat for £1 (or less!) deals across the UK so you can plan some cheap meals for the kids during the summer holidays.

Can Kids Really Eat For Free?

Yes, they absolutely can get a free meal – which is going to be a welcome break for your bank balance. The majority of offers require an adult to purchase something, but this can be from as little as 60p.

As well as kids getting a completely free meal, it’s a great way to enjoy a meal out for you or the whole family whilst saving money or even using it as our main activity that day.

Where Do Kids Eat Free?

The kids eat free or for £1 offers are available at supermarkets, restaurants and cafes across the UK. A variety of cuisines are available, from Japanese and Italian to Mexican and British so there’s lots of choices for the kids eat free meals to (hopefully!) suit everyone in your family.

It’s worth noting that each place has its own T&Cs – I’ve summarised age and date restrictions below, but some may have other terms which I haven’t listed or this blog would be a super lengthy, boring read! So just do a quick search online for “[name of restaurant] kids eat free” to check for details before you set off.

We’ll start off with the kids eat free deals, then we’ll look at places where kids can eat for £1 or less.

Kids Eat Free Cafes & Supermarkets

Dobbie’s Garden Centre

One child gets a free breakfast or lunch with the purchase of an adult traditional or vegetarian breakfast or lunch.

Dunelm

Kids enjoy a free mini meal deal with every £4 spent in the Pausa Cafe at Dunelm, all day every day.

John Lewis

One child gets a free kids’ meal at lunch when an adult spends £10 on their lunch in John Lewis cafes.

Age: not mentioned. When: until 8th September 2024.

Morrisons

Get one free kids’ meal with any adult meal over £5 from the Breakfasts, Classics or Chippy section of the Morrisons Cafe menu. As a side note, you can also enjoy free refills on self service hot drinks in the majority of their cafes.

Subway

Kids eat free at Subway with every footlong sub or SubMelt purchased. The free meal includes 4″ sub, snack and drink This is the first time Subway has run this offer during the summer in the UK, so hopefully it’s popular and keeps coming back.

Tesco

Kids can enjoy a free meal with any adult purchase in Tesco Cafes when you scan your Tesco Clubcard. The kids meal includes a hot Meal Deal, kids’ Breakfast or kids Pick’n’Mix deal.

Age: not mentioned. When: until 16th August 2024 in Scotland, and 30th August 2024 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Waitrose

Kids get a free lunch bag or hot meal at Waitrose when an adult spends £5 in the cafe. It’s available in 128 cafes across the UK. You can see the new, refreshed Waitrose menu

Kids Eat Free Restaurants

Bella Italia

Kids get a free 3 course meal and a drink every Thursday with the purchase of an adult main course.

Age: 2-11 years old. When: ongoing.

Bills

Up to two kids eat free all day Monday to Friday when one adult orders any main course.

Age: 10 years old and under. When: until 30th August 2024.

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants

Get a free main course from the kids menu for each adult dining from the a la carte menu. Kids can also add on a dessert for only £3.50. Excludes weekends at BSK Battersea Power Station and Heddon Street Kitchen.

Age: up to 8 years old. When: ongoing, but excludes key dates such as New Years Eve and Christmas Day.

Las Iguanas

Join the My Iguanas loyalty program via their app and get a free kids’ main, 2 sides and dessert with every adult ordering a main course from the a la carte menu. You can also get a free book with every kids meal, subject to availability.

Pizza Express

Children can enjoy one free Piccolo meal for free when you purchase an adult main course when you dine in.

TGI Fridays

Kids get a free child’s main meal with the purchase of a full price adult’s main meal. This kids eat free deal is available all day, every day for TGI Friday’s Stripes Rewards Members.

Every Sunday, kids get a free meal, drink and ice cream/sorbet for every £10 spent by an adult.

Yo Sushi

Kids eat free with every £10 spent on food by an accompanying adult. The child will receive a kids’ meal deal bento box and there’s a maximum of 3 kids per booking.

Beefeater & Brewer’s Feyre

Up to two kids eat a free for free with every adult breakfast purchased. An adult breakfasts is unlimited, all you can eat for only £10.99.

Brew Dog

Kids get a free meal from the kids’ menu when eating with an adult. Meals include DIY pizzas to cheese toasties. You need to pre-book your table using the ‘Kids Eat Free’ offer.

Age: 13 years old and under. When: until 18th August in Scotland, 31st August in Ireland and 8th September in England and Wales.

Premier Inn & Whitbred Inn

Two kids get a free breakfast with every adult breakfast purchased.

Age: 15 years old and under. When: ongoing.

Kids Eat For £1 or Less

ASDA

Kids can enjoy a hot meal and a piece of fruit for £1 all day, every day at ASDA cafes with no adult spend.

Age: under 16 years old. When: Sundays from 12pm-3pm.

Dobbies Garden Centre

Kids’ can get a roast dinner for £1 on Sundays when an adults buy a main course lunch.

Hungry Horse

Every Monday, up to two kids eat for £1 for a main meal or £1.50 for a larger meal with every paying adult

IKEA

Do I need to ask about Kids Eat Free offers before ordering?

I would recommend to mention it to your server before you order to make sure you’re ordering the correct items, that the offer is available in the particular restaurant you’re in and also at the time you’re visiting.

Are the kids eats free offers available all year?

Most of the offers are available during school holidays only and only some supermarkets or restaurants offer kids eat free deals all year. In the list above, we’ve highlight the year round deals with ‘Ongoing’.

Is there an age limit for the kids eat free deals?

Yes, there is an age limit for most of the kids eat free deals. I have highlighted these above, but the majority are for under 12 years old. Some don’t mention an age range, so it’s best to ask your server before ordering the meal.
